For the last year and a half The Little Pickle has had a part-time extra employee to assist Alex in times of pickle mania and event overload; the time has now come for that extra employee to make the jump into full time employment! Welcome…Jessica Hughes! In truth Jess has had much more to do with The Little Pickle since it began in October 2014 than people would realise, not only assisting Alex with events, making pickles and chutneys at all hours of the day (and night!) and running market stalls.
Jess and Alex met in Val d’Isere in France when they were both working as chefs for a ski company. They both had a passion for excellent food (eating and cooking it!) and continued to progress in their foodie careers for the next 5 years. Cooking in some of the most prestigious chalets in the alps and stunning villas in Mallorca and Portugal. Jess also managed a team of cooks and hosts for a period which led to the position she has held most recently, managing The Old Prison Café at The Cotswolds Discovery Centre in Northleach in the Cotswolds.
Working for the Cotswolds Conservation Board, managing their principle visitor centre and café was a great challenge for Jess and gave her a wealth of knowledge about the local area and further experience in yet another area of the hospitality and catering industry. So the time has now come for Jess to concentrate on The Little Pickle and to push the boundaries for chutney fans everywhere!
In her new role, Jess will be focusing on holding more Little Pickle Pop-Up events and building on the current range of pickles and chutneys available; however she will still be available to jump in the kitchen and cook gourmet food for willing guests. We look forward to announcing some new pickles soon and will keep you up to date with the next available pop-up.
If you would like to discuss stocking pickles in your shop or you have a venue that would be great for a pop up please get in touch with Jess on 07748389941 or email email@example.com
