Well it has been a busy old couple of months; whenever we think it is quietening down it gets busy again! Definitely a good thing, especially as The Little Pickle is just two years old this winter.
We have been busy personally too as we got married on Bonfire night and we managed to take a week off for a honeymoon to New York where we ate and drank our way through the city. We managed to eat at some great NYC classic restaurants, delis and cafes. Including Ess-a-Bagel, Katz Deli, Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridian, Shake-Shack and to top it off with some three star charm, Eleven Madison Park. All of these eateries were brilliant in different ways (Burger Joint was the best burger either of us have EVER had!) but Eleven Madison Park was another level. The excellent food and the incredible service makes for an unforgettable occasion. We were lucky enough to be invited into the kitchen and see where the magic happens – as chefs we always want to see behind the service doors! #MakeItNice
We also visited several food markets and a distillery – a very food focussed honeymoon!
Lots of people have been asking about our wedding catering, which of course is something we offer, but on this occasion thought we would stay out of the kitchen for the day! We chose to get married at Cripps Stone Barn in Upper Windrush based on the catering packages that they offer. It was just up our street and we had a fabulous day. We couldn’t of been happier.
We did however make our own wedding cake which again is a service we offer to couples for their special day. For our cake we wanted different flavoured tiers and also wanted a couple of gluten free tiers, We chose a semi-naked style of icing which we covered with seasonal berries and fruits. As we met in the mountains we topped our cake with lego snowboarders.
We found when researching different cake designs that the possibilities really are endless and that this is the time to really show your couples personality. Your wedding cake is a focal point for your guests and always gets lots of photos taken of it so it should be something you are really happy with.
